The challenge
After thirty years, Atelier Brandt had outgrown an identity designed when the practice was three people. Its website hid award-winning projects behind slow galleries, and the partners felt the brand no longer matched the ambition of the work.
Our approach
We built the identity on the practice's own drawing conventions: a typeface chosen for its technical clarity, a grid derived from their standard sheet sizes and a palette sampled from the timber and lime plaster they build with. The website is structured like a monograph. Each project opens with a single full-bleed image and reads as a short essay, with drawings and details revealed as you scroll.
The outcome
The practice now presents itself with one consistent voice across competition entries, site hoardings and its website. Inquiries for cultural commissions doubled in the year after launch.
For the first time, our identity feels like it was designed by architects. That is the highest compliment we can give.
